Advanced Conditionals 

  • Usage: Used to introduce the single factor or reason that changed the outcome of a situation.
  • Structure: But/Were it not for + noun phrase, subject + would/might + verb

Adverbs (Collocations)

  • Usage: Used by pairing specific adverbs with adjectives to highly amplify their meaning.
  • Structure: Subject + verb + collocating adverb + adjective

Examples

1. But for his help, I wouldn’t have passed the exam.
2. Were it not for the time difference, I would call him every day.
3. The team was bitterly disappointed by the client’s feedback.
