Hopes and Regrets

Wish/If Only

To talk about things you want to be different in the past or present.
Present wishes = Wish/If only + past simple/past continuous
Past regrets = Wish/If only + past perfect
Ability/possibility = Wish/If only + could

Gerunds or Infinitives

Depending on the verb, add -ing (gerund) or to + infinitive
