Present Continuous for Future

We can use the present continuous form to talk about future events.

The structure is ‘am/is/are + verb-ing’.

In this lesson, you’ll learn when to use this structure and practising using it.

When to use present continuous for future?

For certain/planned future events.
Use ‘am/is/are + verb-ing’.
Use future time expressions – tomorrow, next week, later, soon

Examples

1. I am flying to Greece next week.

2. We are going to the circus on Friday.

3. I’m buying milk later because I forgot to buy it earlier.

Remember: you can use contractions.

Practise

Fill the gaps with the present continuous tense.
