No Longer, Any Longer, Anymore

No longer, any longer and anymore are used to show something has stopped or isn’t true.

In this lesson, you’ll learn when to use these and practise using them.

When to use no longer, any longer and anymore?

Usage and Position

To show when something has stopped or something isn’t true.
No longer – before a verb and with positive sentences.
Any longer/anymore – at the end of the sentence and with negative sentences.

No Longer

I no longer eat meat.
More formal

Any Longer

We aren’t friends any longer.
More informal

Anymore

She doesn’t work here anymore.
More informal
