Moving to a New Country

Dear Abby,

I moved to the UK six months ago, and I’m struggling to make friends. Back home, I was very social, but here everyone seems so busy. I have joined a local tennis club, but people usually leave immediately after the game. I’ve heard that British people take a while to ‘warm up’ to new people. Should I keep trying, or should I look for a community of people from my own country? I don’t want to feel like an outsider anymore. Any advice would be appreciated.
