A Household Negotiation

Mark: Have you seen the state of the kitchen? I thought it was your turn to do the washing-up.

Sarah: I was going to do it, but I’ve been working on my presentation all evening. I’m exhausted.

Mark: Well, I’ve been working too, and I cooked the dinner! It feels like I’m doing everything at the moment.

Sarah: That’s not fair. I did all the grocery shopping on Saturday while you were at the football.

Mark: Fine, but we need a better system. Why don’t we make a rota?

Sarah: Actually, that’s a good idea. If we write it down, we won’t have to argue about it every Wednesday.
