- Is/are thought to have + past participle – people think it happened this way.
- Is/are reputed to have + past participle – there is a legend or story that it happened.
- Is/are alleged to have + past participle – someone says it happened (usually a crime or mistake).
Advanced Adverbs
Inevitably
- Meaning: Almost certain to happen; unavoidable.
- Use: To describe an outcome that is a natural result of a situation.
Remarkably
- Meaning: In a way that is very surprising or impressive.
- Use: To highlight an unexpected or positive achievement.
Regrettably
- Meaning: A formal way to say unfortunately.
- Use: To express sadness or disappointment about a fact or a refusal.
Writing an argumentative essay
