Active Voice
- Focuses on who does an action
Passive Voice
- Focuses on the action being done to the object
Conjunctions
- Although = meaning ‘but’, introduce a contrasting idea
- Despite = something isn’t influenced by another factor. Followed by a noun.
- However = meaning ‘but’, stronger contrasting ideas, follwed by a comma.
Examples
We were going to go to the beach. However, we decided to go to the pool instead.
Although it was raining, breakfast was being served outside.
Despite having no experience, they gave him the job.
